It's an amazing idea! Ok, now for some actual depth to the post.
I spoke with a gentleman at the Plantronics booth a PAXEast a few months ago and brought up the topic of a Semi-Pro Gaming League(SPGL) that is being built for all of North America and is coming out in mid/late July. Yes, I am the one behind the league and yes I have filled out the paperwork for sponsorship. But I also own a DSP 655 and think it's better compared to a lot of other gaming headsets that are out there. Other people need to know.
I never heard anything back via e-mail or phone, so I have decided this may be the best place to make others aware.
The SPGL is a gaming league designed to help amateur gamers take that next step to becoming a pro. Right now, it seems like it is a far leap to go from amateur to pro, akin to how hard it is to go from high school football, right to the NFL. There is a certain underlying structure that seems to be missing, and that is our purpose.
We already have a SC2 league being formatted (its the game I know the best), but we intend to continue expanding to help support e-Sports all over. And I wanted Plantronics to be part of that.
I'd love to get into that once we launch. I've even been in some rudimentary talks about LoL as well. But for now the focus is on SC2 and getting the SPGL out there. I just wish I'd get a reply from these guys. Hurting me feelings not even giving me email

Sound like a good idea?
